What drives everything I do is my belief that it is our responsibility as trial lawyers to hold the responsible individual or corporation fully accountable, make our communities safer by deterring future harm, and secure compensation that recognizes the full and fair value of what was taken from our clients’ health and quality of life.

Sharif Gray’s Background

Sharif graduated valedictorian from the Virginia Military Institute, received his law degree from the University of Virginia, earned his Master of Laws from Temple University, and completed the Gerry Spence Method. Before private practice, Sharif served as an Army JAG Officer, a Drug and Vice Prosecutor, and a Federal Law Clerk.

Sharif regularly speaks to audiences across the country. His TEDx talk challenged people to confront an uncomfortable truth: “We don’t miss what matters. We decide what doesn’t.” Sharif also developed the Gray Questions, a framework for preparing cases for trial. That framework is the foundation of his forthcoming book, The Opening Is the Trial: Ask the Gray Questions, Build the Case That Matters, Give the Jury the Truth.

Sharif hosts the Courtroom Stories & Tactics podcast, where he and his team break down cases and what actually works in the courtroom. The conversations are focused, practical, and grounded in experience. Sharif is also the founder of Voir Dire to Verdict, an annual trial skills conference built for lawyers who try cases on behalf of people.

At the heart of Sharif’s work is a deeply held belief that every human life has extraordinary value. Whether standing before a jury, teaching other lawyers, or speaking to audiences outside of the courtroom, his mission remains the same: to help people recognize what truly matters and find the courage to stand up for it.

Outside of work, Sharif enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, grabbing dinner with friends, playing “competitive” kickball, and working out most mornings.
