Shea Gibbons is a professional and seasoned trial lawyer
Shea Gibbons is a trial attorney at Gray Broughton Injury Law, representing Virginians injured through no fault of their own. He brings to the firm over a decade of litigation experience honed across private practice, a clerkship for a federal judge, and two United States Attorney’s Offices—giving him an unusually broad and rigorous foundation for trial work.
Shea Gibbons graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University, and earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was on the Virginia Law Review. Shea began his legal career clerking for a federal judge, where he developed a deep appreciation for the craft of trial advocacy. He then joined the law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP in Washington, D.C., where his practice focused on white collar criminal and civil investigations.
Shea subsequently served as an Assistant United States Attorney in two districts. In the Middle District of Florida, he handled a civil practice centered on fraud investigations under the False Claims Act and defensive litigation under the Federal Tort Claims Act—giving him firsthand insight into how the government evaluates, defends, and resolves complex civil claims. He then returned to Virginia, serving as an AUSA in the Eastern District of Virginia, where he built a criminal practice focused on white collar prosecution and appeals, including health care fraud, human trafficking, drug trafficking, child exploitation, money laundering, and federal program fraud.
Now at Broughton Injury Law, Shea channels that experience into fighting for injured Virginians. His years on the government side—evaluating claims, litigating cases to verdict, and arguing before the Fourth Circuit—give him a unique ability to anticipate how defendants and insurance carriers assess cases, and to build the kind of record that wins at trial.
Shea is an Eagle Scout, and a proud husband and father. Outside the office, he enjoys woodworking and all sports, especially college football.
