Zachary Grubaugh is a professional and seasoned trial lawyer
Zac Grubaugh is a trial attorney at Gray Broughton Injury Law, where he represents individuals in serious personal injury and wrongful death cases throughout Virginia. Since beginning his career as a trial lawyer in 2012, Zac has represented clients in military, state, and federal courts. He approaches every case as though it will be tried before a jury, creating the leverage necessary to achieve the best possible outcome whether through settlement or trial. Since dedicating his practice exclusively to representing injured plaintiffs in 2023, Zac has secured multiple seven-figure settlements and obtained a $20,000,000 jury verdict on behalf of his clients.
Following law school, Zac served nearly seven years in the Marine Corps as a Marine Judge Advocate, where he primarily served as a criminal prosecutor. During that time, Zac prosecuted some of the military’s most serious criminal offenses. Through that work, he developed the trial skills, attention to detail, and commitment to advocacy that continue to define his approach today. During his military service, Zac prosecuted more than 130 criminal cases. In 2019, Zac left the Marine Corps as a Captain with an honorable discharge.
After leaving the Marine Corps, Zac spent more than four years as a civil litigation trial attorney for the City of Richmond, where he defended the City against personal injury and wrongful death claims. That experience provided him with valuable insight into how insurance companies evaluate claims, how defense attorneys approach litigation, and how to identify weaknesses in a defendant’s case.
Today, Zac uses his experience on both sides of personal injury litigation to aggressively pursue justice for those who have been wrongfully injured, bringing discipline, precision, and unwavering advocacy to every case.
Outside the courtroom, Zac is a proud husband and father who lives in Midlothian with his family. He enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active.
